G RADING S CALE A – 90 – 100 B – 80 – 89 C – D – F - 59 or below

H OW ARE STUDENTS GRADED ? Daily Grades- 20% of total grade Homework- will be assigned most nights and will be checked for a weekly homework grade. Homework is vital to being successful in learning mathematics. Quizzes - will be given on a regular basis. Projects will count as 2 quiz grades. Ten points will be deducted for each day the project is turned in late. Classwork- Any work completed in class that is graded. Student must keep up with notes and bellwork to be turned in

G RADING SYSTEM Test Grades- 80% of total grade Tests will be given at the end of each chapter. Students will be given a study guide the day before each chapter test. Exams are at the end of each semester, December 19 th -20 th, then on May 21 st - 22 nd. Exams count as two test grades. We will review the content covered a few days prior to the semester exam.

A TTENDANCE Students are expected to attend class daily. Class time is valuable and instruction cannot be made up if it is missed. I encourage students to come to class everyday, if they are absent they are missing something in my class. Make-up work can only be done for excused absences.

M AKE - UP W ORK Students with excused absences must request make-up work upon arrival back to school then missed assignments must be turned in within 5 days of their return. It is the student’s responsibility to make arrangements with the instructor for any make- up work. *No make-up work for UNEXCUSED absences.

G EOMETRY C URRICULUM More challenging than ever, students must spend time outside of class preparing for Algebra class. Since this is an advanced class student expectations are set at a higher level and students must be determined meet these expectations.
