 Students will have the opportunity to participate in the Sammy Show (morning announcements) in fifth grade. In order to participate students will have to complete an application and audition for a place on the Sammy Show. If chosen, they will need to be at school by 7:30 each morning.  Being on the Sammy Show is a privilege. If a student is not arriving to school on time, not behaving in class, or has missing assignments they will not be able to participate.

Students may choose to lose bucks for behaviors that are inconsistent with our class and school rules along with missing assignments.  2. Positive Reinforcement: Students can earn bucks from teachers and specialists for a variety of reasons.  Approximately, every 2 weeks is free time. All students can cash in at the store, however not all will participate in free time if there are any missing assignments.

 Will consist of the following:  Reading Log (15 min. and summary/thick questions) each night (due on Friday)  Weekly Reading Sheet (due on Friday)  Journal prompts (twice a week on M&W)  Expect Math nightly  Science or Social Science will occur weekly  All homework will be written in the agenda nightly. Please sign the agenda after homework completion each night.

The goal of homework is for practice and in order to inform the teacher of the students’ level of understanding. Incomplete or missing assignments will be noted at the end of the week on a weekly report.

The agenda has many purposes: 1) to communicate 2) to inform 3) to organize the student
