Presentation transcript:

Click your mouse for next slide Flash – Morphing and Shape Tweening You have designed some motion animation with the last lesson There is another type of animation – shape animation and this uses a different form of tweening called shape tweening It morphs a shape into something else. First you need to draw a shape in the stage area We will use the Brush tool this time

Click your mouse for next slide Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening Pick a fill color by choosing the bucket and the down arrow to the right of it.

Click your mouse for next slide Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening Now pick a brush size by choosing a size from the list second from the bottom on the tools panel If you wish, you can also pick a brush shape from the list in the bottom of the tools panel You can leave it as is if you wish

Click your mouse for next slide Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening Draw a doodle shape like the one I did or in fact any shape you wish by dragging your mouse over the stage area

Click your mouse for next slide Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening Good now we need to draw the words we want this shape to morph into Right click on a different frame in the timeline Choose a frame a little farther down the timeline say about frame 20 When you right click choose Insert Keyframe choice

Click your mouse for next slide Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening Now that we are on frame 20 we want to delete the shape we drew for the first frame because we want it to disappear and change into the new form To get rid of it just hit the Delete key

Click your mouse for next slide Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening Now we are going to make the shape morph into some words First make sure the default panel set is visible like you did in the last lesson (go to the Window menu, Panel Sets choice and choose default layout Now choose the Character tab and drop down the Font list to choose the font you want

Click your mouse for next slide Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening Now choose the size of that font by using the slider bar shown on the left You can also change the color of the font if you wish by opening up the color window in the little color box to the right of the slider bar for font size

Click your mouse for next slide Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening Now we are going to type the words. Click once in the stage area to position your text but make sure to give yourself lots of room to draw the text frame When you click in the stage area your cursor will change and will draw a frame with your cursor as the lower right hand corner

Click your mouse for next slide Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening Now type your text into the box

Click your mouse for next slide Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening Two more things to do. First we have to tell Flash that we want it to break these shapes apart so that they can morph into each other Do this by going to the Arrow tool and then clicking once on your text Then go to Modify and choose the Break Apart choice

Click your mouse for next slide Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening Now go back to your first frame by clicking it in your timeframe Then change to the Arrow tool in the tools menu and click once on your shape to select it Then go to the Modify menu choice and choose Break Apart just like did before

Click your mouse for next slide Flash - Morphing and Shape Tweening Finally, tell Flash you want to draw the in between frames by telling it you want to shape tween Do this by going to the frame tab in the lower panel and choose the shape tweening choice Press Enter to test out your tweening Save your file as an.fla file and export your movie to the same location

Click your mouse for next slide Super Giant Big Fun Assignment Start a new file Draw a shape in once color Draw some text in another position in another color Make your shape morph into the text Save your file as an.fla file
