Why does my student have to take this class? Algebra 1 OR Algebra 1 A & Algebra 1 B OR Algebra 1 Honors is required for high school graduation! Also, the FSA Algebra 1 End of Course Exam (EOC) will be given between April 18 and May 13, This test MUST BE passed to earn a standard high school diploma, PLUS is the EOC exam grade is 30% of the course grade. NO credit is given for the course in either semester UNTIL the EOC scores have been received.

Will my child have homework? YES! How can I know what the classwork/homework is? See the course focus calendar (the same for all FPCHS Algebra 1 teachers)

First Day and Week of School Watch your child’s backpack and the class blog carefully during the first day and week of school. You will find the course syllabus (must be signed), as well as the focus calendar stating all classwork and homework for the first quarter. Usernames and passwords will be supplied to all sites requiring them!

What should I do before Monday? 1.Sign up for Skyward so you can access your child’s grades 24/7. 2.Obtain the school supplies for Monday. 3.Subscribe to the classroom blog. 4.Obtain an academic planner for your child. 5.Gym uniforms are being sold in the cafeteria for $10. 6.Apply for free/reduced lunch (EVEN if you aren’t sure you qualify BECAUSE it helps our school provide MORE for your child through TITLE 1 funds.)
