Classroom Procedures How things are done in science class.

Homework 1. Generally assigned Monday through Friday. 2. Have it ready at the door. 3. Missing homework may result in mandatory tutoring. 4. HWK is checked when you walk through the door. 5. Signature in RED or stamp = full credit (10 Points) 6. X or no signature = 0 Credit. A parent signature is required to receive credit if turned in late.

Beginning of Class 1. Pick up papers, READ board and table directions, and immediately begin DSJ (minimum 4 sentences). 2. Complete DSJ (complete sentences numbered and highlighted). 3. Stack your DSJ to be signed and be ready to share your DSJ.

End of Class 1. Clean up: 1. No Lab Day: 2 minutes before the bell. 2. Lab Day: 5 minutes before the bell 2. DSR: Reflection for what was learned in the lesson/unit (Minimum 2 sentences, periods numbered and highlighted, will be before student can leave.) 3. LAB TECH: Clean the desk, put back materials, and empty the trash bin.

Absences 1. MUST STILL HAVE homework IF ABSENT! 2. All missing papers can be picked up in the file crate located on the counter near the filing cabinet of the room. You must get the “directions” and then follow the directions to get the get the papers that you need. 3. It is the students responsibility to obtain the work on days absent.

Make-up Work 1. Lectures, test/quizzes, and labs must be made up in tutoring or during school wide intervention (Wednesday or Saturday School). 2. Copy notes form the teacher’s or tutor’s SNB. 3. Check the “7 th Grade work” box for missing papers.

Grades SNB total will be done at the end of the week or unit (1- 2 weeks). Table of Contents mush be filled in completely. Total must be highlighted. Grade must be in a % or letter grade (A, B, C, D, or F).

Bathroom Breaks Fill out bathroom pass in your planner (2 per quarter) Do not interrupt instruction to go to the restroom. Quickly leave and come back and resume work.

Pencils Use the sharpener on the desk to sharpen pencils. If you need a pencil, the a pencil from the “pencil” jar and sigh the sheet. Remember to return it at the end of class.

Tardiness 1. Students who are late to class will be sent to the attendance office. ** If lining up, you must be in line before the tardy bell rings. ** No line – must be in your seat before the tardy bell rings.
