Book: Among the Hidden, by Margaret Peterson Haddix By: Juan Andres Jaramillo Penagos

The book Among the Hidden by the author Margaret Peterson Haddix is a book full of mystery and fiction, I could also say that this book is a book full of suspense because you are never going to expect something to happen in that book, it just happens instantly, and sometimes sad and scary things happen also instantly. I really think this book is full of mystery because this little boy Luke is always finding more mysteries for why their parents are hiding him and why are they treating him like that and they are not treating that bad his two other brothers (Matthew and mark.) this book is also full of mystery because at the beginning of the book Luke is trying to find the reason of his parent for making him hide all time but then at the middle of the book when he discovers why their parents are hiding him he starts trying to find the way to stop that hiding habit, and he finally finish concluding that he is going to take a false identity card and that he is going to leave the city with his father´s friends dad to another city with not population laws. I also thing this book is of realistic fiction because the book combines real life style and a little of fiction. The real-life style is the population laws because in y this moment the world have some countries with overpopulation like China so the government created that law to decrease the excess of people in China. The fiction part of the story are the character the setting and the time because those are created by the author to make the book more tentative and good to read.

This incredible book called Among the Hidden is about a little boy called Luke that lives in America and this little boy is living thought out the era of overpopulation that the government numbers it law number 3903 (is what the book says.) the law consisted in blocking in every parents the opportunity of having s third child trying to have a positive answer in the decreasing of the population of the state because it is overpopulated. In the story the unlucky little child forgets how does the fresh air looks like so he decide to go outside only one day that the house is completely alone and no one is outside either. But when he goes outside and then he advance a couple of feet he instantly gets afraid and try get back, but he discovers that the door is locked. I'm not going to tell you more because I want you to read it, but I'm going to tell you a little about how the book ends… Luke make friends with a girl named Jen that suffer of the same law, she also has to stay hidden all they, they both become friends and they start hanging out and playing, but unfortunately Jen though of making a rebellion against population laws but when the rebellion started all the children that where there were killed by population police including Jen. Luke discover that and he gets very sad but finally at the end of the book Luke escapes from the city with Jen´s father.

In conclusion we could say that the book Among the Hidden is a very great book full of mystery suspense and science fiction. Is also a very good book for young talented reader because it has a very interesting story but with and advanced challenging vocabulary that is what helps you gain good oral speaking English and that will help you for the rest of your life. I would highly recommend this book to students my age (12 to 13 year) because this book is very interesting and has good challenging words for 12 year old students or 13 year old students and this is not a boring book, this book is very interesting and full of mystery and much other things!
