CAP and CAP Expansion News CCCECE Regional Meetings Fall semester, 2013 Authored by: Jan DeLapp, CAP Faculty Director

CAP Updates As of September 30, 2013: Over 70% of CA Community Colleges have been approved for alignment with CAP ▫72 Campuses are now aligned (officially and provisionally)  (Provisionally means the campus needs to submit official outlines)  Congratulations to Mt. San Jacinto, Solano and Palomar, our newest ‘officially’ aligned colleges!  An additional 8 campuses are still in revision

CAP Expansion Updates The outlines for the 7 CAP Expansion courses were overwhelmingly approved by faculty during a survey in late August/early September. Faculty were mostly from CA Community Colleges, but also included faculty from CSU. The 7 outlines were officially ‘launched’ during the CAP Expansion meeting on Sept. 26, 2013.

CAP Expansion (cont’d) To align CAP Expansion courses: ▫Campus must first be CAP aligned ▫Campus must submit a Statement of Intent (SOI) ▫Must work with CAP Regional Lead; Lead will submit the alignment document(s) ▫Campus may submit 1 – 7 outlines; no requirement for all at once, or all per subject area ▫Once SOI received, campus will receive resource books for each subject area they plan to align ▫GO TO:

CAP Regional Leads Jan DeLapp (Faculty Director, Northern Lead) Becky Green (South 2: San Diego, Riverside, some LA) Mary Beth Miller (Central) June Millovich (South 1; LA, Orange, San Bernardino) Edna Rodriggs (Bay Area 1) Jeanne Virgilio (Bay Area 2) Contact Information on CAP Website (Under Technical Assistance)
