Weaknesses into Strengths Most of this content can be expanded upon by checking out books, articles, and video presentations by Dave Rendall, author of the Freak Factor Manifesto, the Freak Factory, and Dead Leaders.

What are your weaknesses? Have a worksheet and writing implement? Follow instructions. Write down at least 5 of your biggest weaknesses.

5 minute exercise…

Oh. My. Gosh. Becky! MOST of us know our own weaknesses! What about others’? Do you notice:  The pretty eyes, or the wart?  The speech impediment or the brilliant mind?

Fix the bad? Increase the good? Both?

Are we becoming a cookie-cutter people? I want to be MEDIOCRE! (said no one ever!) Follower? Average Joe? Clone? “Pretties?” “Strengths and weaknesses are connected. You cannot eliminate one without the other – Ben Casnocha” By “…focusing on reducing or eliminating (weaknesses or limitations,) …we are also weakening the complementary strength.” – the ambitious life

I’m just a witch, deal with it! I am not saying to use your weaknesses as an excuse for poor behavior! (Michelle, insert personal story here, …)

5 minute exercise…

Disorganized… Inflexible……… Stubborn……… Slow learner…. Inconsistent…. Obnoxious…… Emotionless… Shy……………… Irresponsible... = Creative = Organized = Dedicated = Detail-oriented = Flexible = Enthusiastic = Calm = Reflective = Adventurous = Responsible = Positive = Realistic = Assertive = Humble = Self-confident = Patient = Passionate Boring…………. Which one(s) do I grow? Every weakness has a corresponding strength. – Dave Kerpen (Likeable Local) You can’t put feathers on a dog and call it a chicken. – Dr. Phil McGraw Success is achieved by developing our strengths, not eliminating our weaknesses. – Marilyn vos Savant Seek out situations where you can use your strengths and excel there. – Mary Sailors Allow yourself to avoid what you do poorly. – Dave Rendall Look to colleagues, etc. to fill in the gaps where you are weakest. – Dave Kerpen
