What is Social Studies? The study of how people over time have interacted with each other and their environment in order to live.

The arts By The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for girls.

 In our country we don’t really have any artist who are singled out as the most important but we do have some very respected artists e.g.  David Tlale South African fashion designer.

 David Kau The worlds first and only 100% Black Economic Empowerment Comedian (BEEC). -Lebo Mashile South African poet, actress and fashion designer.

 With South Africa being the most diverse country in terms of the many different culture groups and languages, art is understood quite well. In our many different cultures we use arts in the way we make and paint our houses, the clothes we wear, the types of traditional dances we do and the different delicious foods we eat.

Museums Most of our museums display things linked to the Evolution of Human Kind, our different cultures and apartheid. Cinemas Our cinemas view movies from all around the world. We have two different cinema networks which are Ster-Kinekor and its primary competition New Metro.

Theatres  Our theatres show case plays, musicals and dance performances just like any other theatre. Our most common theatres are  The Market theatre  Monti Casino(theatre)  The Civic theatre How often we visit. Our school is fortunate enough to get to visit theatres, museums e.t.c at least three times a year.
