Making Models of a Raised Garden Beds Cinder block and Wood option

Use the Tootsie Roll Midgees and icing First place a thin layer down on wax paper to hold the Tootsie Rolls

Place your first layer of candy down adding a small amount of icing in between the candies to replicate the mortar used in cinder block construction. Remember – one candy is one cinder block = 16 inches in length.

Once complete – add a thin layer of icing on top of the bottom layer, then add your second layer

Notice how the candies have to be placed for this construction

Wooden option If you want to make a model of a wooden type use the Tootsie Rolls Midgees and roll them around in your hands to make them pliable. Once pliable, stretch and press them into a shape that represents a piece of wood. It takes about 2-3 stretched out and flattened and pressed together to make one length of wood. You can determine how many inches (or cm) equals a foot (meters), etc.

This took about 10 Tootsie Rolls using the procedure described

The sides are hard to stand up so Tootsie Rolls can be added for support, which would have to be done in a real garden in some areas for some of the wooden options
