Description A Sea Otter is a mammal that lives in the pacific ocean. They have closeable ears. And they have huge webbed feet. They have cream colored faces. They have sleek body’s with dark brown fur. They are up to about four feet long and they weigh from forty-five to eighty pounds. They have webbed hind feet witch they use to swim with. They have thick fur to keep warm. 1
Habitat Sea otters live in the pacific ocean. They live in warm water. They live by the coast . Sea Otters live on kelp. They live near California, though Alaska, and Northern Japan 2
Diet A sea otter is a carnivore or a meat eater. It eats sea urchins, fish, crabs, snails, squid, and octopus. They use rocks to open shells then they eat their food. Sea otters have whiskers and they use them to help them feel food in the dark oceans. Sea otters dive into kelp beds to hunt for food. Sea otters float on their backs while they eat . 3
Survival A Sea Otter is in danger because men hunt them It has thick fur for survival and to keep warm. It swims away it predators but not all the time. Sea otters can’t swim away all the time because the sea otters can slow down and get caught by it predators It’s predators are sharks, birds, great white sharks, bald eagles, bears, coyotes, and humans. 4
