Follow Up Questions Diabetes is caused by an increase in blood glucose. People with diabetes II also have a very high risk for developing Alzheimer’s disease. If increased blood glucose enhances memory, then why would we see high amounts of blood glucose inhibiting memory in Alzheimer’s disease?

Follow Up Questions If you were a physician and looked at the data and conclusions from this experiment, what would you give/suggest to your elderly patients suffering from deficits in memory formation?

Follow Up Questions Is there memory improvement in the patients given glucose? What percent improvement is there? Is this a cure for deficits in memory loss? * Young individuals exhibit 100% memory retention Data taken from Manning et al., 1993
