Linings

Lining – What is it?  A layer of fabric constructed separately from the outer garment and then joined at one or more major seams

Lining – Why have one?  A lining gives an attractive appearance to the inside of the garment  It also helps prevent stretching and wrinkling of the outer fabric  Some linings are added for comfort or insulation

Lining – How to make  May be cut from the same pieces as the outer garment  Seam finishes are not necessary  Use hand stitching to attach lining to garment along facings and hems
