Presentation transcript:

Worm Gear Worm Gears are useful for conveyor systems. The locking feature can also feature as a brake when for when the conveyor motor is not turning. Worm Gears are usually so shallow that when the gear tries to spin it, the friction of both the worm and the gear holds the worm in place.

Spur gear Spur gears are typically straight toothed having radial teeth which are used to create the movement of power and motion between parallel axels. These gears are most commonly used to increase or reduce speed. They are also used for resolution or positioning systems.

Crown gear Crown gears teeth are positioned at exactly right angles to the plane of the wheel. Crown gears get their name from their teeth. “This particular instrument uses Crown Gears for tightening up a power drill bit. As the key is turned the “jaws” of the drill approaches each other for holding the bit in place. The Crown gears are placed this way so that there is no problem in tightening the bit.”
