Explicit (adj) O Fully, clearly expressed; easy to understand O The teacher’s mood was explicit; she yelled and screamed, “I am so upset about your behavior for the substitute!”

Implicit (adj) O The underlying meaning behind a statement, phrase, picture, or media. You have to figure it out on your own. What message is trying to be sent by a person’s actions or words? O We knew our teacher was upset about our behavior without her even saying a word; she curled her lip, her face got red, steam rolled out of her ears, and she scowled at each of us as we entered the room.
