3 Default Shape Background –STEP data is becoming more complex –More Application Protocols being used –More complex data sets being exchanged Issues –Files with multiple alternative shapes –Files defined by AP’s not directly supported by the reading system –Files containing a lot of information where some of the data is of special importance to the sender Suggestion to CAX/IF –Consider methods to allow the sender of STEP data to tag the important/preferred/default shapes
