Suggested answer for Task 2a 1.1 Sheltered Workshop Programme Workers are employed full-time manufacturing and packaging goods in the programme’s workshops. The Government is the programme provider, and it is responsible for providing the workshops and supervisor to manage each workshop.

1.1 Sheltered Workshop Programme (cont’d) The employer is responsible for delivering the materials and picking up the finished products and giving the supervisor instructions about what needs to be done.

1.2 Work Group Programme Workers are employed part-time or short-term doing cleaning, packaging or clerical jobs at the employer’s offices and factories. An organisation called Progress is the programme provider, and it is responsible for providing a group leader for each group and transportation for the workers.

1.2 Work Group Programme (cont’d) The employer is responsible for providing a work schedule and someone to supervise the work group.

1.3 Worker Placement Programme Workers are employed full-time doing a wide range of jobs in offices or factories. An organisation called Society Link is the programme provider, and it is responsible for providing suitable workers and support services, including special equipment.

1.3 Worker Placement Programme (cont’d) Society Link also provides training for the workers and staff replacements, if necessary. The employer is responsible for the workers’ safety and their insurance.

Task 2b Reminder On meeting Fashion Sense’s needs 2 parts 2.1 Fashion Sense’s specific needs (DF9) -improve public image -improve staff punctuality -improve staff loyalty -make products without setting up a new factory -have more space to package the new products

2.2 How these needs can be met by employing the disabled (DF8,9) -make a contribution to society -show the public it is a kind and caring organisation -disabled workers are always punctual -very good attendance records -using workshops is a good way to produce and package more products without having to set up new facilities
