My great-grandfather Kotenko Andrey Petrovich was born in When the war began, he was 30 years old. He went to the front on the second day of the war. He was a driver and a signaler during the war. He fought in the Crimea and in Western Europe. For his fighting services he was awarded with several medals and Order of the Red Star. My great-grandfather died in 1975.

Romanovsky Nicolay Alexenderovich( ) Romanovsky Nicolay Alexenderovich was born on the 22 nd of May, 1922 in the village Bolshaya Rakula, Biryakovsky region, Vologodskaya oblast. When the war began he was 19 years old. He finished a military school in Vologda and went to the front as a second lieutenant. He was a commander of engineer company. He blew up himself when he cleared of mines a bridge for our army on the 10 th of August, 1943 near Bogodukhov the Ukraine

My grandmother Grigorevskaya Anna Nikolaevna was born in When the war began she was only 10 years old. She lived in Sankovo then. When fighting was on the territory of her village she helped injured solders. She also worked in hospitals. During the war in summer and in autumn she worked in the fields to grow wheat for our Soviet Army. For her works she was awarded different medals. She died in 2013.
