To provide a range of services designed to support any student at KFUPM in their learning of mathematics. In particular, it aims to help students in their earlier stages of their studies.  Diagnosing weaknesses and/or difficulties.  Advising & Counseling  Provide Remedial Programs Tutoring Self-Learning Classes E-Learning

2 for Math for Math 002 Attendance: students per session. One week prior to Exam I, Exam II, and Final Exam. Sessions available on the web. Assist the students to review the topics already covered in preparation for the examination. Offer assistance to low-level learners. PROBLEM SESSION

3 groups for Math group for Math 001 Two classes per week Covers 4-6 sections per session REMEDIAL CLASSES The results for 5 students who attended 5 or more of these classes showed an improvement of 8% in average. In one case, there was an improvement of 20%.

19 classes for Math classes for Math 001 Survey for subjects most students need help in SUBJECT-BASED CLASSES Help students overcome their difficulties. Provide extra time to work with low ability students.

Instructors are available for longer periods covering the whole day. Serving all students before major and final exams Solve problems and explain difficult points EXTENDED OFFICE HOURS

To help KFUPM students and math teachers to take full advantage of the center resources to learn and teach mathematics in new and exciting ways. Provide educational aids such as  software,  posters,  videos,  web-based resources,  test banks,  handouts,  reference books, etc Arrange for math awareness activities.

The web resources include the following:  Algebra and Trigonometry videos  Math by voice videos  Math by videos  Syllabus  Homework solutions  Practice exams with solutions  Solutions for old exams.  Instructional slides  Contact information for faculty.  Manuals and handouts.  FAQ

 solutions to homework problems  recorded by experienced instructors  uploaded to the Web  show ways to tackle problems

 section by section videos  problem session vedios  uploaded to the Web  Both MATH 001 & 002

 a series of videos hosted by Dana Mosely.  professionally produced for the text  valuable resource for further instruction and review.  permission to broadcast on the KFUPM TV.  uploaded to Website

 self-study handouts, folders  available on topics which often cause confusion  worked examples and exercises and solutions  After a student weakness is diagnosed he is referred to these handouts  Each will explain one concept, explain the techniques and skills solve a practice example, and provide another example for student to solve.

 For Math 002 Lab covering the 15- weeks.  15-min of instructions presented via video broadcasting.  Materials are available in WebCT.  Matlab commands and features.  Computer drill practice related to Math 002 material.  Submit solutions electronically via the Web.

 Bank of all old exams with their solutions including item analysis of all questions items with their statistics. - available in hard copy and CD.  Test Bank book provided from the publisher in the service of all instructors. - available as hard copy and CD. - complete testing solution based on a program developed by Renaissance Corp Services, INC (test administrator & class administrator).

 providing posters on the importance and essence of math.  distributed in hallways, computer labs, classrooms…etc.  posters enhance the understanding of concepts and processes.  help the students gain new, unexpected, and profound insights.  Some are obtained from Issac Newtron Institute and others are designed and produced at KFUPM.

 HM Testing CD (computerized test generator).  HMClassPrep (transparencies, masters, chapter tests, quizzes).  Printed Test Bank.  Algorithmic Computer Tutor CD.  Algebra and Trigonometry Videos.  Graphing calculator instructional video.

To enhance the creativity, critical thinking, and achievement for gifted and talented KFUPM students.  Identify the KFUPM gifted students.  Accelerate their mathematics learning.  Provide guidance for their future.  Design special activities(lectures, workshops, …) to enhance their creativity and critical thinking.  Involve in worldwide math competitions.  Design challenging math projects.

 16 high-ability students at Prep Year Math Program.  High math scores in high school.  High scores in RAM I, RAM II and MATH 001 exams.  Recommended by their instructors  Critical thinking, high performance, participation, intelligence  Several math activities for Math Friends.

 WebCT based course.  engage math friends in mini mathematics projects.  enables contacts and white board conversations.

competition with some math challenging problem was done and the participation was very good. Enhance their critical thinking and math abilities.

 a series of magazine resources aimed at enhancing math teaching.  interesting math exercises for students with teaching tips for instructors.  developed by Centre for Innovation in Mathematics Teaching (CIMT), University of Exeter, Exeter, UK.

Encourage and support gifted KFUPM students to engage in international worldwide competitions such as: International Mathematics Olympiad International Mathematical Talent Search Internet Mathematics Contest
