LACK OF CHILD DEVELOPMENT Lack of Supportive Environment Hungry for what is denied Perceived deficiencies Measuring up to others

NEEDS OF HUMAN BEINGS Needs for approval Recognition Power Control Status Need to prove one’s masculinity Smartness Successfulness

INSTUTIONS of DISTORTIONS PARENTS SCHOOLS ORGANIZATIONS

PARENTS Survival in the world Ignoring individuality The Straight “A” Student Occupational Future

SCHOOLS The Straight “A” Student (revisited) Disregard of Talent Serving the needs of Society- not the student Selective of Talents

ORGANIZATIONS

DO YOU LOVE YOUR CAREER? Does it facilitate individual growth????

ORGANIZATIONS Denial or Manipulation of Talent Reward Systems “The workday is for doing your job; your overtime is for your promotion” Career more important than your life Burnout at work

UNDERSTANDING HUMAN POTENTIAL Society and institutions cause people to forget their unique talents and interests Rediscovering unique talents “Work is something you have to be “compensated for, because it robs you of living. Play is something you usually have to pay for, because your play is often someone else’s work”

UNDERSTANDING HUMAN POTENTIAL “A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation. He scarcely knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever he is doing and leaves others to determine whether he is working or playing. To himself he always seems to be doing both”

WHAT DOES GENIUS MEAN? Dictionary definition- “the unique and identifying spirit of a person or place” Talents that you love to develop and use Things that you could potentially do with excellence Getting fulfillment out of your talents

DISCOVERING GENIUS It may be easy of difficult Make a list of the things you enjoy doing What are the contents of your fantasies and daydreams? What do you wish you were doing? What does your sleep dreams consists of you?

SELF IMAGE Self image is a cultural product Acquiring new learning and risk taking Finding and nourishing your best qualities and letting go what you don’t like Not any easy task!

HAVE YOU DISCOVERED YOUR HUMAN POTENTIAL??? TONE RESONANCE PERSPECTIVE

TONE Refers to your aliveness as an organism Your mental and emotional life as well as your muscle and organ life Anxiety is your enemy

RESONANCE Being “in tune” with other people and environments Joining your energy with others Discovering those environments that are able to provide resonance

RESONANCE Three theme’s that can cripple your capacity for resonance: Materialism Sexism Violence

PERPECTIVE Necessary to guide choices and to inform experience Multiple perspectives Making the best possible choice

SELF FULLFILLMENT Did I live a happy life? Do I have a lot of regrets? Did I do the things that I loved to do? Was my career a mistake?
