presented by J. Mauricio Ruiz, P.E. Yadhira A. Resendez HIPERPAV Wisconsin Customization 15 November 2005 Madison, Wisconsin

Background HIPERPAV is a tool to better understand early- age concrete pavement behavior. Current terminology and default inputs represent the entire nation. Better acceptance will be obtained by customizing HIPERPAV.

Presentation Outline Enhancements –General –Options –Geography –Cement –PCC Mix –Environment –Construction –Analysis

General Input validation ranges and typical defaults for Wisconsin included Can open FHWA HIPERPAV 3 files

Options Electronic version of WisDOT spec book linked directly to the software

Geography Station selection 508 compliant Geographic features added Geography map zooms in on state Zoom to Wisconsin

Geography Using additional local weather stations Without using new weather stations

Slab Support Subbase selection Subbase stiffness values updated with selection of subbase

Heat of Hydration Heat of Hydration Time Type III Type I + FA Type I Temperature Prediction

Temperature Time Heat of Hydration Environmental Cycle Temperature Prediction

TimeTime Mix Temperature Initial Set Final Set Final Set Peak due to hydration Peak due to environment TemperatureTemperature Temperature Prediction

Cement Library of Approved Cements

PCC Mix Aggregate addition Calculated “%”

Environment Intellicast download based on zip code

Construction Curing terminology

Analysis Optional wind speed curves in Evaporation results

Analysis User-defined values for evaporation thresholds

Analysis Compressive strength shown in different graph Indication if compressive strength met required psi
