2 TRAINING COURSES AND WORKSHOPS

3 Instructors and WUA Members Training In compliance with the “WUA Strengthening Services” Component 1 it is envisaged:  to prepare training courses;  to train instructors;  to teach Council members and WUA staff.

4 Preparation of Training Courses WUA support unit together with the International Consultant has developed a plan on instructors and WUAs members trainings. This plan envisages module system conduct of trainings for Councils, WUA administration on all the aspects of water users associations establishment and development.

5 Instructors Training WUA support units under DWR have conducted the following courses for Oblast and Rayon WUA units’ Engineers:  WUA Establishment and Development  General administration  Financial management  Engineering  Water Consumption  Legal basis of WUA activity  Monitoring and Evaluation  How to conduct meetings, conflicts resolution, community development  Training of Zone Representatives

6 More than 48 thousand WUA members have been trained to all aspects of WUA establishment and development starting from the date of the Project implementation. Training of WUA members is held by use of module system in autumn winter and spring periods, when farmers are less involved in fields works. Members of WUAs Councils, WUA administration, dispute solving and revision commissions, as well as farmers are invited to participate in the trainings.

7  Under the project there were developed training plans meeting the needs of WUAs. According to this plan the training of the WUAs Council, Directory and water users has been started.

8 WORKSHOPS on propaganda and WUA support  Introduction workshops on OIP  Workshop based on the activity of sustained WUAs  Republican Workshop on WUA Development  Republican Conference on WUA Development International Study Tours  Experience of WUA development in Turkey, Mexico and the USA  A wide-scale propaganda of WUAs development is undertaken by means of television, radio, central, oblast and rayon newspapers;  Posters, leaflets reflecting On-farm Irrigation Project are published

12 TRAINING CENTERS Training Centers for conduct of conferences, workshops and training courses were opened in the Department of Water Resources as well as in all oblasts and 26 rayons of the country. They possess modern equipment that allows to adequately conduct teaching and consultation activities.
