The Arrangment Novel: The Arrangment by Elia Kazan The Arrangment is the first-person story of Evangelos Arness , a second-generation Greek-American World War II veteran, a son of an Anatolian rug merchant who went broke after the 1929 Depression. He has come to use the name "Eddie Anderson" in his career as a advertising executive and the name "Evans Arness" in his second career as a muck-raking magazine reporter. Biography of Elia Kazan Elia Kazan directed his first play in 1934.In 1947 he found the Actors Studio. Elia Kazan began directing movies in 1944, winning Oscars for Gentlemen’s Agreement and On the Waterfront. In his 1988 autobiography he defended his decision to comply with the House Committee on Un-American Activities in the 1950’s.

Lyndon B. Johnson Lyndon B. Johnson, the 36th president of the United States, was born in Texas on August 27, 1908. He was elected vice president of the United States in 1960, and became the 36th president in 1963, after President John F. Kennedy. During the presidents younger years he, was born in Stonewall, Texas, on August 27, 1908, Johnson's family had settled in Texas before the Civil War. His parents, Samuel Ealy Johnson Jr. and Rebekah Baines Johnson, had three girls and two boys. Lyndon was the oldest, born August 27, 1908. The town of Johnson City was named after the Johnson family, because of their farm and ranch. Lyndon's father was a rancher and part-time politician. During Johnson’s presidency he faced many issues. The African American race was still being treating very poorly. Everyday they face living in slum houses in the North. Terrible treatment in schools, grocery stores, and even hospitals. America was also at war with Viet Nam during Lyndon's presidency. They were not getting what the president had promised. The economy was not at its best there was a wide scale regions of depression, rural poverty across the nation and, much needed aid to education. During Johnsons presidency he helped improve all of these. When he left office, their was talks of peace talks with Vietnam. He did not live to see them successful, but died suddenly of a heart attack at his Texas ranch on January 22, 1973.

I’m a Believer “Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer Not a trace, of doubt in my mind I'm in love, and I'm a believer I couldn't leave her if I tried No not if I tried.” I think the song I'm a Believer means that when he saw a girls face he believed that there was true love and he knew that for sure. During 1967 the country was facing difficulties and, he “believes” that there is hope for the country.
