Teresa de Avila What Happened? Ran away to a convent in 1536 after father opposed her plan to become a nun Since she felt that the practices were too easy, she made some of her own more strict rules regarding fasting, prayer and sleep Eventually the church gave her permission to reform the Carmelite order She inspired many future protestants to remain in the church Born in Spain in 1515 These events showed religious conflict throughout Europe because: she thought that the practices were too simple, so she decided to make them more challenging

Francis of Sales What Happened? Worked to regain the district of Savoy had become a large Calvinist worshiper because of his mission, a large part of the Calvinist population became Catholic again later, he founded a religious teaching order for women These events showed religious conflict throughout Europe because: Due to his mission, a lot of the Calvinists went back to being Catholic.
