Clearances Reciprocity – PGs, BIs Background Investigations Case Types - DT, ST, CCAs, Reinstatements PG and NSANET IRTPA and Clearance Processing
Adjudicative Process Following extensive fact gathering – investigation, checks, polygraph, etc.), examine a sufficient period of person’s life weighing variables: Nature, extent & seriousness of conduct Circumstances surrounding conduct Frequency & recency of conduct Age & maturity at time of conduct Likelihood of continuation or recurrence Potential for pressure, coercion, exploitation
Clearance Processing Each case judged on own merits – two adjudicators at a minimum Doubt resolved in favor of national security Ultimate decision is common sense determination based on careful evaluation If contractor is denied a clearance, must be advised exactly why (in writing) Two level appeal process
