Presentation transcript:

Reflection of Communion 1 Corinthians chapter 11 verses 17 to 29 Holy Communion, the Eucharist (“thanksgiving”) the Lords Supper is central to Christian Faith. In heaven....the Lamb who was slain. “At one time you were far away from God and were his enemies because of the evil things you did and thought But now, by means of the physical death of his Son, God has made you his friends, in order to bring you, holy, pure, and faultless, into his presence.” Colossians 1 v21, 22 (GNB)

Three affirmations about the Communion/the Lord’s Supper 1. It should demonstrate our unity 2. It deserves a right attitude 3. It deepens our worship causing us to look back, look up, look around, look forward...in hope

Song of Songs/Solomon 2 v10-14 (NJB) Come now, My love. My lovely one, Come. For you, the winter has passed, The snows are over and gone, The flowers appear in the land, The season of joyful songs has come. The cooing of the turtledove is heard in our land. Come now my love. My lovely one, Come. Let me see your face. And let me hear Your voice, for your voice is sweet And your face is beautiful. Come now, My love. My lovely one, Come.

God's plan is to make known his secret to his people, this rich and glorious secret which he has for all peoples. And the secret is that Christ is in you, [the hope of glory] which means that you will share in the glory of God. (Colossians 1 v27 – GNB)
