What is an interactive science notebook?

IT IS…. A student thinking tool An organizer for inquiry questions and what I learned… A way to access and process notes and class discussion through different ways (writing, drawing, graphic organizers, and discussion) A place for writing rough drafts based on hands-on learning A formative assessment tool for you and your teachers (helps us see what you know and what you need help with)

Why use an Interactive Science Notebook ?

To: BECAUSE YOU ARE A SCIENTIST You will: Keep a class notebook for notes and homework Keep a class notebook to record your interpretation of class discussion, notes, activities Keep a lab notebook to have a comprehensive log of your laboratory journies In order to: Improve organization skills Improve critical thinking skills Express understanding creatively Record data Study for tests Record progress Communicate

What will my interactive science notebook look like? This year you it will be split into two parts Part 1: Class Notes Part 2: Lab Notebook
