Definition of Slope Slope is the steepness of a line. The number that represents the slope is found by the difference in the y-values divided by the difference in the x-values.

To find the slope of the line segment between the two points, you need the rise divided by the run 5 units Run Rise 3 units

The formula to find the slope of the line segment between the two points is = = 5 3 (4,6) (1,1)

What is the slope of this segment? Run Rise Rise -8 Run 9 =

What is the slope of the segment between these two points? (-3,-3) (2,2)(2,2) = 2 – (-3) = 5 5 =1

1. (-4,6) and (8,1) Answer: (-5,-6) and (4,-1) Answer:5 9
