LIFE Brusselles Meeting 23rd, 24th September 2010

Question 1  Everyone needs life skills for life, school. employment  Teachers need to be conscious of teaching life skills  Teachers deal with vocational students  Easier to reach them, it ’ s a new way of thinking.  Usually teachers do not take into consideration life skills

Question 2  Objectives were met very effectively.  Teachers were very happy to learn the different ways of approaching life skills.  We were meeting the needs of vocational trainers.  Discovered that there is still a great need for vocational trainers.  A very interactive way to learn life skills.

Question3  Flexible, refreshing, new ideas, practical, produced in different media  Promotes creativity  Inspiring, motivating, diverse, easily accessible  Implemented project  Pick and mix  Reinforcing the new ways of teaching  Provides underpinning knowledge in terms of pedagogical approaches and understanding the importance of embedding key competences.

Question 4  A variety of new ideas  Innovative approaches to tackling the same problem  Learning about educational systems in other countries  Broadening horizons of both participants and their learners back in their countries  All educational professionals belong to the same “ family ”  Enhancing chances for labour mobility within Europe  Richness of cultural diversity

Question 4  Friendship and understanding  Sharing different ways of teaching and ideas  Explore own educational system more deeply in order to share with other partners and reinforce understanding of own system  Learning from each other  Meetings have been highly interactive and participative  Gaining inspiration from cross cultural working

Question 4  Gaining insight into language, culture, colleges, cities etc of different cultures  Involves considerable personal and professional development for participants which benefits all aspects of our personal and professional lives  Highly motivating to be involved in such a project  An amazing opportunity in every way  Impact! Impact! Impact! – the Wow factor!

Question 5  Through feedback from dissemination activities  Level of interest from stakeholders  Results of project directly linked to mobility project  All partners have identified positive actions to maintain and develop the project into the long term  68 countries have looked at the website and materials, more than 1000 visits.

Question 5  Further development of the product as a wider use of the pack as a teacher training resource  Life materials included in material for training teachers  Plans already in place to embed in teacher training practice and CPD  Plan to add more activity to continue building the product

Question 6  Teachers more aware of how they teach life skills, especially vocational trainers who attended the workshops about the materials - new ways of approaching students  Prime example of how one responds to competency based learning – VET being reformed into competency based learning approach, this becomes a valuable and practical tool for VET teachers

Question 6  Using the materials helped to identify needs to take this even further, to reinforce Life skills teacher training  Teachers need prior knowledge, and activities, need chance to experience activities in class, over a longer period  Possibility of international training course  Teachers know about activities, but pack has helped them to understand the methodology behind such activities, and the knowledge and understanding of why they are important

Question 6  Good in terms of learning process for learners  Product has met the needs of teachers, initial teacher training, continuous professional development, feedback from the participants shows that it is relevant to different parts of the overall target groups.  Can be used in a variety of forms

Question 7  Resource pack is a perfect example of competency based learning and as a result contributes to the implementation of reforms in education and training in not only the partner countries but across Europe and in its own small way has the potential to support European and national VET framework reform.  We feel there is a potential to extend the Life products results and outcomes through further European dissemination and development initiatives  Maintaining contact with policy makers and creating networks to support further education development, contributing to the reform process
