Presentation transcript:

FOSTERING ANIMALS Ann Smith

PRODUCT AND STEPS TO BEGIN  Find a facilitator with a background with Veterinary Sciences.  Volunteer with an Animal Rescue Group or Humane Society  Prepare an area in my house to keep animals  Complete any training needed  Take in strays until they are well so they can be adopted  Prepare a visual presentation of my journey with each of the fosters and my responsibilities

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE  I have very little experience except for being a pet owner.  I have assisted with some pet adoptions CHALLENGE  I have never cared for sick animals  I want to ensure they receive lots of attention  This is a larger responsibility that is all mine (not my parents’)

COSTS, LENGTH OF PROJECT, AND LOCATION  I don’t expect many costs if at all. - possible for pet food and cat litter - hope to coordinate with the organization for supplies  I will be spending every day after school caring for the animals until I can nurse them back to health or get them adopted.  Use of my parent’s house and at the organization’s facility

FACILITATOR  I currently do not have a project facilitator, but hope to ask someone at the organization where I will volunteer  This person should either be a Veterinarian, Veterinarian Technician, or someone who already fosters animals.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?  I will learn if working with animals is something I want to do as a career. PRESENTING  In my presentation, I will go over the steps to complete my project, what I discovered in my research and the product I created.  Visuals of the animals I’ll foster: pictures/videos  The specific responsibilities of fostering

THANK YOU
