POWERPOINT Presentation graphics program that allows you to produce professional-looking presentations and add effects to enhance your original presentation. Slide Show = presentation PowerPoint allows you to easily create an interesting, organized slide show. You can print a variety of handouts for your audience.

PPT Features Word processing Outlining – you can import your outline from Word into PowerPoint Charting – Create and insert charts and tables Drawing – Create specific drawings Insert Multimedia – Pictures, audio, etc. Save to the web – as an attachment Collaborate and Prepare delivery – timing, etc.

PPT Terms Layout – how slide is set up. Default when start is title slide. Landscape – default page orientation (“longways”) View- mode in which the presentation appears on the screen; Normal (default), Slide Sorter, Slide Show, and Notes Page Tabs pane- Slides tab and Outline tab Splitter bar – separates slides from tabs pane, can be adjusted

POWERPOINT Project #1 Open up PPT Default theme is OFFICE THEME Click on the DESIGN tab and select the FLOW theme In your TITLE PAGE type: A World Beneath the Waves Click and type the following SUBTITLE: Spring Break in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Presented by YOUR NAME, SGA President

PPT Project # 1 – Changing Text Triple-click Presented by Your Name, SGA President Notice how the transparent Mini Toolbar appears whenever you select text Select Italicize Select this line and the line above it by holding the ctrl key and press the down arrow, or use your mouse Change the text color to dark blue (row 1, column 9) Select Cabo San Lucas and BOLD the text Select the TITLE SLIDE and decrease font size to 48

PPT Project #1 – SAVE AS Click the MS Office Button (upper left hand corner) Point to Save As. Select compatibility mode (PPT ) Save to H drive as (YOUR NAME) PPT Project #1

Add New Slide On the Home Tab click on NEW SLIDE Add slide with TITLE and CONTENT LAYOUT Add the title: Package Highlights Type the following in the text box placeholder: Four Nights at the Azure Seas Resort Breakfast buffet, lunch, dinner, and snacks Two large swimming pools Round-trip airfare and hotel transfers Daily activities, including water sports

Multi-level Bulleted List Slide Add a new slide in Title and Content Layout Type the title: Rates and Booking In the text placeholder type (with bullets): Only $495 double occupancy Click the Increase List Level Button in the Paragraph Group to move the next line’s bullet over to the right Tab moves it to the right; Shift+Tab moves it to the left

Multi-level Bulleted Slide Cont’d Type: Non-driver rate: $275 Single occupancy: add $150 Select the Decrease List Level Button or Shift+Tab to move the next line’s bullet over to the left Type: Nonrefundable $150 deposit required Due by October 1 Travel insurance highly recommended

New Slide Add new slide with Title and Content Layout Type the title: Snorkeling and Diving Hit CTRL+Enter to move to text placeholder. Type the text: Three days of two-tank boat dives For the next line increase the bullet (move to the right) and type: Weights and tanks included For the next line increase the bullet (right) and type: Instructors available for beginners

New Slide cont’d Next line move the bullet back to the left hand side and type: Various locations based on diving skills Tab the bullet one spot to the right and type: Spectacular underwater wildlife and landscapes See squids, sea turtles, snakes barracudas, and stingrays

Closing Slide Select the First Slide Click on NEW SLIDE and select DUPLICATE SELECTED SLIDES to select our title slide’s layout Drag and drop this new SLIDE 2 to the end of the slide show Select the text placeholder and select the CUT BUTTON from the CLIPBOARD Group of the Ribbon to delete the text. You could also select text and press DELETE or select text and press CTRL+X.

Change Document Properties Click on the MS Office Button Point to PREPARE and select PROPERTIES Click on Author text box and type your name Click on Subject box and type Computer Science Close the document panel SAVE YOUR PROJECT to the H Drive. (Your Name) PowerPoint Project #1
