Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Hyperbaric Medicine has been used for 75 years to treat brain insults! HBOT is approved and on-label for 15 indications and treatment is reimbursed by all major third party payers including Medicare, Tricare and the Veterans Administration. Typical Monoplace Hyperbaric Chamber Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is the only non-hormonal treatment approved by the FDA for biologically repairing and regenerating human tissue. It is FDA-approved and effective for the treatment of 3 kinds of non-healing wounds. It is currently FDA-approved as the primary treatment for 3 different kinds brain injuries: carbon monoxide poisoning, arterial gas embolism, and cerebral decompression sickness. Army medicine has run trials investigating the use of Hyperbaric Oxygen to treat and help heal Traumatic Brain Injury. They have shown that HBOT is both safe and effective: "Randomization to the chamber.... offered statistical and in some measures clinically significant improvement over local routine TBI care." Also: ".... total scores for [both] groups revealed significant improvement over the course of the study for both the sham-control group.... and the HBO2 group....." Expert outside consultants to DOD declared that "[HBOT] is a healing environment."
