You can make your Facebook page look truly unique (and help promote your store) through your profile picture and cover photo. Your logo will make a great profile picture that can be easily recognized by users when you post or comment. Your cover photo can be something fun like a display in your store, a photo of your employees, or a photo of your store from the outside. There are just a few rules when it comes to cover photos. According to Facebook, your cover photo may not, “Be deceptive, misleading, infringe on anyone else's copyright or be in violation of the Pages Terms. When you post to social media, you need to be strategic. You want to post photos, articles, news, videos, and other types of content that you think your customers will find useful. I like to follow the 80/20 rule. The rule states that 80% of your content should be useful items that your customers can truly find value in. These are called engagement posts. The 20% are promotion posts. These are sales-y content that pushes your customers into your store – promotional items such as store updates and coupons. And remember that there is no “right amount” to post on social media because it varies for everyone, but we recommend daily engagement! It is very important that you fill out your store information completely in order to give you customers all of the information that they need to shop with you. This includes your website and/or blog, your hours, your , your phone number, your address (including the handy map that Facebook provides), as well as a description of your store. It is useful for SEO (search engine optimization which helps you get found in Facebook search results as well as other engines like Google) to include keywords in your store description, including names of popular brands that you carry, the type of store that you own (pharmacy/health, gift, flower shop), and any other words you think that your customers might use to search for you like your city or town. Don’t be shy, fully fill this section out! And don’t forget to set your custom username/URL so that you can have a simple URL to give customers. Your analytics is where you can really see the ROI (rate on investment) you get out of your Facebook page. They tell you who is talking about you, who likes you, the reach of each of your posts, how engaged users were with each one, and the demographics of your fans. Note: Talking About number is more important than your total number of Likes because this is the number of people actually seeing and engaging with your posts. Your analytics also help you plan for the future. If a campaign does well (or not so well), you can plan to post something similar (or not) the next time.
