Activity 11.7 DATAMANIPULATION

 Produce reports to display all the required data and labels in full.  Set report titles, use headers and footers, align data and labels appropriately PRODUCING REPORTS

A database report is the printout of the output from a database. Reports are professional looking documents and you have more control over their appearance rather than simply printing out query results. DATABASE REPORT

REPORT WIZARD

WIZARD CHOOSE QUERY This report is going to be based on one of the queries you built. Depending on query, you will get the selected fields from that query. Load “High pay”

SELECT FIELDS Use the button for selecting all the available fields to selected fields.

REPORTS Grouping not needed so just go on Sorting not needed

CHOOSE LAY-OUT Be familiar with orientation and change The settings from Portrait To landscape. Check so Tabular has been selected.

TITLE REPORT If the window with changing the style not appears here, continue with give the report a name:. “Details of all employees earning over £40000” Also ensure to select modify

DESIGN OF REPORT Report header – this is used for a title and any other information for the whole report. Page header – this appears at the top of each page and is used to hold the field names. Detail – This shows the rows of data. Page footer – This is used to hold details such as date etc.

FOOTER Create more space

DESIGN – CONTROL SECTION Create a label and write your name in the box

VIEW THE REPORT Don’t forget to format your footer, if so was given. And maybe align it! Voila!

TRY IT OUT! Try and notice that different versions of Access can do it a little different.
