A Unit Portfolio Chelsie Oals

 This is a project that will take place out of class to keep students physically active and eating healthy. The project will last two months and consists of students meeting challenges and helping others meet challenges in aim at being rewarded.

 Essential Question  Are you fueled to play 60?  Unit Question  How is fitness and nutrition important in our overall health?  Content Questions  How many minutes per day do I need to be physically active?  What are some good physical activities?  What is healthy for me to eat?

 This project will help students:  Create a fitness routine and healthy eating habits.  Collaborating with peers to reach a common goal.  Analyze unit and curriculum framing questions to engage them in physical activity.

 Purpose of this assessment: To gather how much time students spend physically active each day.  What I want to learn from my students: I want to learn what can make my students enjoy physical activity for the minimum time required.  How I have tried to promote higher order thinking? Students will be asked to take part in the Play 60 program.  How the assessment information helps me and my students plan for upcoming events in the unit? Students will create and maintain a healthy lifestyle for themselves to prepare for the challenges that will occur in the rest of the unit.  What feedback or additional ideas I’d like? For students to give feedback on what they liked and disliked and some ideas they may have for challenges in the future to add to the Play 60 program.

 Have active students for 60 minutes per day  Create healthy eating habits  Find ways to encourage students to be active at home as well.

 To enjoy participating in physical activity for at least 60 minutes per day.  Find ways to eat healthy but enjoy it.

 Will Play 60 encourage more students to get involved in physical activity?  Are the challenges adequate and is the program rewarding for students?
