Presentation transcript:

At the Youth Summit for Environment we came up with some solutions. We have used our Canon cameras to show you what our families, our school and our community are doing about the 7R’s.

Our families reduce waste in land fills by composting green waste. They reuse the compost in their gardens.

As water can be scarce, we reuse rainwater with water tanks. The government helps with money for new tanks.

At our school we have recycling tubs in classrooms to recycle paper.

Our teachers recycle cardboard boxes for storage of their class materials. This is the desk of our Japanese language teacher, Ms Shinagawa.

Families in our area have three recycling bins – one for garden waste, one for recyclables and a small one for landfill.

In our classes we research environmental issues. We can take a subject called “Save Our Planet”. Some classes are part of iEARN Canada’s Carbon Footprints Project.

In our community, families are refusing to use plastic bags for their shopping. They are using eco bags instead.

On “Clean Up Australia Day” our community works together to refuse to let litter pollute our environment.
