Citrix Client – Server Relationship
We set up the Server You need to set up the Citrix Receiver for your PC to be a Client. Download receiver at
On the download screen choose the highlighted settings then click “Find”
Then click “Detect my device and install receiver” Follow on-screen instructions to install – allow Citrix to access your PC to install
With receiver now installed, link to Read any Alerts, then click OK.
Log in using your NetID and password
All Citrix software available to you will be displayed For today’s session we will click SPSS – highlighted (crudely) below in yellow
You will likely get a pop-up similar to the one below Always allow full/all access – Citrix needs to access your PC to open files you are working on
Retrieve sample Excel file at: Then save the file to your desktop Firefox Internet Explorer
When SPSS opens, click “Open another file…”
Still using the “Open” pop-up, drop down “Look in” and select the location on your PC where you have placed the Excel file. DO NOT select “Local Disk (C:)”, that is C: on Citrix Rather select “Local Disk (C: on nameofyourPC)”
Folders on your C: drive are now displayed – double click the “Users” folder (but note the folder names may vary on your personal PC)
On the next list choose the folder having your NetID (but note that this name may vary on your personal PC)
Now double click Desktop (or other folder if you placed the file elsewhere)
Select your Excel file and click Open:
When you click Open you will be asked which worksheet in the file you want to use. There usually will be only one sheet. Click OK
Once you’ve clicked OK your Excel file will be imported into SPSS and automatically converted into SPSS file format
