National Youth Sports Program 2005 The Right Start at Rock Valley College!!!

What is NYSP?? NYSP stands for the National Youth Sports Program!!!! NYSP is now in its 37rd year of existence. This is a federal program, that is administered by the National Youth Sports Corporation in collaboration with the Department of Health and Human Services, The Department of Agriculture and The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)

What is NYSP??? A free summer sport and educational program for kids that may not have an opportunity to go to summer camp. Rock Valley College is one of 200+ colleges and universities, that sponsor an NYSP program

Mission of NYSP. The National Youth Sports Program (NYSP), in partnership with the NCAA, higher education, governmental agencies and the community, is committed to active participation in sports and education to enable youth from low-income families to enhance the quality of their lives.

Locations NYSP is a collaborative effort between West Middle School and Rock Valley College. One half the activities will occur on the RVC campus and the other one half will occur on the West Middle School campus. The day will always begin and end at West Middle School.

How long does NYSP last?? This summer, NYSP will last 5 weeks, starting on June 27 th and end on August 1st. The time of the camp will run from Noon until 4:30 pm

Who will instruct campers at NYSP Camp this summer?? High School Coaches College Coaches Physical Education Teachers College athletes College students

How do campers get to NYSP?? Campers will have the opportunity to ride NYSP buses from a wide variety of Rockford Public School pick up points in city of Rockford

Meals are provided at NYSP! Light Lunch

All days start with the NYSP Creed!!!!!!!!!!! I am a good sport at all times and conduct myself with decency and honesty. I do my best to get along with others and have pride in myself. I put forth my best effort in all competition and always compete fairly. Walk Tall, Talk Tall, Stand Tall !!!!!

NYSP Tree of Praise!!!!!!!! Students are encouraged to focus on the affective domain, but striving for self-discipline, respect, self- control, positive attitudes and sportsmanship!!!!!!

NYSP is all about Attitude and Respect!!! NYSP Bulletin board is always a center of attention!!
