HANDBUILDING POTTERY:
Presentation transcript:

Shoes What you wear represents you…

Requirements Make a shoe! – Choose a shoe that represents your style or personality! – Must be handbuilt with stoneware or earthenware clay – Roll out slabs of clay and cut out the sole and two sides of your shoe and then score and slip together – Add details, but err on the thick side (ex: make shoelaces thicker than your actual shoelaces so they don’t break!)

Marilyn Levine Levine earned her master's degrees in Arts, and then in Fine Arts (sculpture) at the University of California at Berkeley in 1970 and She became interested in creating highly realistic sculptures of objects like leather boots, jackets, and handbags. Her work was widely exhibited, appearing in galleries throughout Canada and the U.S., and in Paris and Tokyo.
