Bell ringer Complete numbers

Check your answers 16) J – The sloth’s skill as a swimmer contrasts with its inability to move swiftly on land, so you are looking for a word that expresses contrast. 17) D – Most passages will use more than one verb tense; context will help you determine which one is correct. Since the sentence already states that a sloth “can hang”, “can look”, D is the correct.

I have always had an interest in the service industry, and look forward to adding to my list of activities a part time career at McDonald’s. A career in the food industry will give me real world experience, and I will be a stronger if I am I given the opportunity to join the team at Prestonsburg Village. I am an enthusiastic, responsible, and driven person, and I know that I will make an excellent addition to your crew. My enthousiasm comes from my love of people; I love to be around others, and I would love to share this quality with your customers. At school, I am a member of multiple clubs and organizations: French Club, Math Club, Young Christians, Speech and Drama, and the Poetry Club. I also took part in the school’s production of For Whom the Souther Bell Tolls and Going to Branson. I want to be involved in activities. In fact, I feel at my best when I am working with people. In addition, I also particpate in many community service projects. With the Technology Club, I have worked teaching computer skills to senior citizens. In Beta Club, I have helped clean up highways and raise money for Christmas presents for underprivileged kids. I believe that we have a duty to give back to our community, and I am excited to do good in the world. This enthusiasm for life makes me energetic, happy, and pushes me to try to be nice to everyone. I think this quality will make me a perfect fit at McDonald’s. My enthusiasm is matched only by my responsibility. My family has long seen me as a responsible person. I have been babysitting my nieces and nephews, community members, and other family members for more than three years. Friends and family see me as a responsible and mature person. As a student at Allen Central High School, I am very responsible. I have maintained a 3.8 GPA for the past two years, and often that means working hard when a subject doesn’t come naturally. My maturity comes from more than work—I also have kept perfect attendance this year. I work hard and keep good attendance because I want my family to be proud of me, and because I want to be a happy and successful person. I come from a family that teaches that hard work pays off. I will bring this same attitude to McDonald’s, and will work hard at making myself a valuable part of the crew. Lastly, I am driven. I know that my enthusiasm and hard work will get me somewhere. I take chances to be the best version of myself I can be. Last year, I took three weighted classes, and this year, I am enrolled in two AP courses, as well as a leadership class offered through Prestonsburg Community College. I believe that trying in life and pushing yourself will pay off. I want to use my drive at McDonald’s to learn all that I can so that I am a stronger person from having this job, and so that the restaurant will be better from my work there. I can contribute a great deal. As you see, my extracurricular activities, hard work, and academic record speak to my enthusiasm, responsibility, and drive. I look forward to using these qualities as a crew member at McDonald’s of Prestonsburg. Please call or if I can give you any additional information. Sincerely, Willie Carver
