The Active Reader’s Workshop Learning to comprehend, not simply decode…

Why reading comprehension, this isn’t ELA? History is a story, and like any piece of literature you need to understand the connections between characters, events and major themes. Understanding what you have read allows encourages those connections. Assessments are riddled with reading passages and vocabulary. Good reading produces good writers.
