When you arrive for your conference, please bring these materials with you: A copy of your instructor’s writing assignment A pen or pencil

Depending on your stage in the writing process, you should also bring any of these you have completed: Your prewriting Your rough draft

Before you arrive for your conference, you will need to determine which areas in your essay need the most attention.

When you make your appointment for a conference, you will complete a form that lets the writing instructor know what parts of the essay you want to discuss.

 During the session, the writing instructor may ask you questions to help you think more critically about your response. However, you will ultimately be responsible for revising your draft.

 After you and the instructor review the strategies to improve your essay, you will record your revision plan on the conference form.

The writing instructor will send the completed conference form to your classroom instructor so that s/he has a record of your visit and of the revisions you will make to your writing assignment.
