E-PORTFOLIO Luana Room 17 Term Three

Personal Information Luana Leupolu 12 Year Eight Room 17

Goals Term Four

Habits of Mind My Habits of Mind

Maths In Maths, we have been studying algebra and fractions. We also did the Asttle and ICAS tests. Maths Asttle Results February July

Reading February July In reading we have been doing a new thing called the Reading Circle. This is where each group studies a novel and after reading the assigned chapters, we think of 3 HOT questions. When everyone has written theirs down we decided on the 5 best questions. My group has been reading The Bone Tiki.

Written Language In written language we are doing a lot of persuasive and explanation writings. Written Language February July

Social Science Our big project this term was the APEC Trade Expo. My group was USA and we learnt a lot.

Science In term two we did science fair projects. I did mine on static electricity. In term three we had social science so we didn’t do anything for science.

Reflections In my opinion term three was the most challenging term this year because we did so many different projects. But like most difficult projects in the end our hard work did pay off; two of our groups won the ‘Best Stall’ award in the APEC Trade Expo, in Asttle no one in our class had an average level below 4A, and in Science, Maths and English ICAS tests many of our students got credit and two of us got distinction. This is a large accomplishment as a class and I feel proud to be part of an environment where the students take their education so seriously.
