Hypothesis Testing 2

Example 1 Float glass, often used in windows of homes (and found shattered at crime scenes) has multiple layers of “strata” as it forms which are crystalized into its structure. The RIs of a few shards of glass were measured and compared in a criminal case. A question then arouse as to where on the glass fragments the RI measurements were taken. Based on the samples in the newton.df dataset in dafs, is there evidence that it makes a difference where the RIs are measured?

Example 2 Human skulls are often unearthed at mass grave sites. A question arises as to whether on can determine the race of the person based on the general shape of the occipital squamous bone on a skull. Considering the squamous.df data set in dafs, is there evidence that the proportion of African skulls showing “equal” shaped squamous bones differs from that of the Caucasian proportion?
