The Challenge  How do you train teachers to integrate… –Over 9 hours of video –321 video clips –37 teacher guide chapters –51 focus questions –14 audio clips –A CD-ROM –into the curriculum?

We needed to:  Develop partnerships  Recruit school teams of teachers, library media specialists & technology directors  Train the teams  Establish relationships with school district technology directors

Professional Development Plan  June 2003 – 1 day workshops (2 locations)  Summer 2003 – 7 weeks “independent study”  August 2003 – 3 day workshops and planning time (2 locations)  September 2003 through May 2004 – the learning continues…

Project Goals  Provide indexed content –Improve accessibility –Aligned to standards  Professional development sessions & materials  Integrate information & technology literacy standards  Obtain feedback for improvement

Technology Training  Setting the speed –56K, 300K, 300K-cc, LAN  Plug-ins –QuickTime, RealPlayer, Acrobat Reader  LAN speeds – 10 vs. 100 Mbps  Server locations

Using Digital Wisconsin at Home  Does my computer meet the minimum requirements?  Do I have the software needed on my computer?  Can I view the videos and teacher guides available?
