Faculty Recruitment New Appointment File Requirements File must be updated when candidate is selected For a beginning appointment no less that three letters should come forward with the file. For tenured appointments, some extramural evaluation should be sought from referees familiar with the UC system

The number of letters sought should be comparable to the number sought for advancement to the same rank. Avoid seeking too many referees having close associations with the candidate
