Purpose / Approach of CIM for Weather Extend the CIM to cover weather information Use of weather information is pervasive in utilities (load forecasting, planning for events (resource pre- deployment), restoration, root cause analysis) Approach: –Drive requirements by defining use cases (business, then system) –Encourage outside input –Leverage or harmonize with existing weather standards –Keep WG13 and WG14 “in the loop”
