Persons involved in CBR to continue to advocate for signing, ratifying CRPD and optional protocol in collaboration with DPOs & disability movements CBR approach is a key tool in advocacy to empower persons with disabilities to engage with and make the governments accountable in implementing CRPD for promoting the rights of persons with disability

Role of CBR in advocacy for national laws in line with CRPD – it is common standard for all. CBR programmes should have critical self- appraisal if in line with CRPD CBR to support monitoring implementation of CRPD – CBR should also be involved in monitoring progress made so far at local levels

CBR has special importance of working with poor, disadvantaged and discriminated in both rural and urban areas. Workshop participants welcome the introduction of human rights approach in the CRPD. CBR principles fit in with the CRPD.

CRPD is a legal instrument – reinforces the CBR approach - CBR a strategy for inclusive development and should be promoted as part of all development efforts CBR programmes to disseminate CRPD in all communities and other stakeholders

DPOs and CBR should work together. CBR should facilitate, promote and strengthen DPOs, create networking between DPOs at grassroots level and national level; DPOs should support CBR. CBR can play role in reaching more discriminated groups of persons with disabilities such as women & children, emigrants with disabilities, etc.

Persons with disabilities to play role in all the process of CBR from planning to implementation to monitoring and evaluation For working with CRPD, CBR programmes also need to network among themselves CRPD and other instruments to be incorporated in all training programmes

The regional and national CBR strategies, millennium development goals, other strategies should keep account of CRPD

Time to take oath, take benefit of CRPD to ensure it does not remain on paper, we don’t eat papers. The benefit of CRPD reaches all sections of persons, DPOs, civil society all work together to ensure it becomes a reality. Thanks to all.
