Youth employment situation Similar problems in Russia, Lithuania and Albania

Economical situation Changes in the political system in the early 90s, influenced big changes on the economical and labour market structure. Big state-run companies and enterprises, suddenly either closed down or were minimized, causing loose of jobs and high employment rate, especially among young people The “new” politicians are not prepared to face the challenges of the modern market economy and to initiate employment policies in general and for youth in particular

Young women in labour market Among the unemployed youth, women are mostly vulnerable as compare to their male counterparts, regarding employment possibilities Among young women the young mothers are even more discriminated

Problems of just graduated young people looking for a job Scholastic educational system, which provides much higher level of theory, rather then practical Lack of experience is one of the core problems, the youth is facing while looking for a job for the first time Retired people occupy job positions, leaving less vacancies to young people

Perspectives of improving the employment situation of youth Governments are promoting the employers to create and to give jobs to the youth. Employers who offer jobs to young people, benefit lower taxes and other advantages from the state
