5 children die of bicycle injuries every year in NZ! 540 will be hospitalised… AgeNumber Injured

BOYS did you know… That you are 2 times more likely to go to hospital with a cycle related injury the girls boys were injured in a 5 year period ( ) compared with 913 girls.

BOYS!!! Nearly 5 times as many boys are killed cycling. In the 10 years , 52 children were killed in NZ 43 were boys… 9 were girls.

What are cycle related injuries? Starship Hospital tracked cycle injuries over a 6 month period Upper limb fractures36% Lower limb fractures18% Face and neck injuries14% Head injuries12% Abdominal injuries 9% Other-skin and lung injuries

Always wear your helmet when on your bike… Wearing a helmet reduces the risk of: Brain injury by 88% Head injury by 85% Severe brain injury by at least 75%
